RE: I need help for my first RV vacation!!

You have all the info you need right here on this site. At the top is a strip of links. In the middle is a link called "plan a trip". Click on that and you will see a "directories" link at the top of that page. Search either Trailer Life or Woodalls directories and you will find everything you need. Also, go to the campgrounds, resorts and attractions forrum page under the heading "locations" on this forum and ask about campgrounds you find in the directories. Good thing you have lots of time to research. Good luck.

Junis Ponds, Phelps, NY

I have reservations for Junis Ponds in Phelps, NY in July. Has anyone been there? If so, can you tell me what to expect.
Thanks.

RE: another OOPS

Count your blessings. It's rare that people take responsibility for their actions in situations like this. You want to make sure it's fixed properly and to your satisfaction. Find out the reputation of the local RV dealer. Talk to them personally. Make sure the repair is done right. Good luck!

Has anyone seen or used this product? CLICK HERE
A friend was doing research on black streak remover after spending the better part of 2 days scrubbing and came up with this site. Now we are both curious.

RE: Where to keep the bikes for the kids?

Thule or Yakima will have options you can consider for your application. Don't go the cheap route. You get what you pay for. I bought a cheap roof mount bike rack and the bike came off the first time I used it. I bought a Thule roof top system and I'm not worried about the bikes at all.

RE: Wheel stabilizing chocks

Wheel chocks, no matter what kind you use, are the FIRST thing you install after leveling side to side and the LAST thing you remove after you hitch up. This is true no matter how level the site is front to back. (don't ask me how I know:o)
ah pete, come on tell us how do you know??? Please...
Your first reaction when you see a 33" TT moving on it's own is to grab it to try to stop it. You don't want to be in front of it or in it's way. You want to be behind it, grab on tight and enjoy the ride. It's no roller coaster, but a 3 foot drag by a TT sure gets the adrenaline pumpin!:S That's all I'm saying.

RE: TV: Pickup vs. Van

How about a nice Class-B? Usually extended body van chassies. Have to watch towing capacity. You could work and sleep in them comfortably.

RE: what's a good portable air compressor?

I have the same one mosseater has. It was given to me, used, by my father when he moved into a house w/o a garage. It's portable enough to take along camping and it fills to at least 80PSI. I'm at the mercy of shore power though, since I don't have a generator.

RE: Inside tire wear

Not sure what may have caused your problem, but my brother-in-law had one tire wear real bad. Upon inspection, he found he had a bent frame from the manufacturer. Mfgr fixed the bent frame, he had to spring for the new tire. He has a Crossroads 5er w/a Lippert frame. Luckily the frame mfgr was close to him in PA. He just got it back early last week. Lippert has had some problems lately. Might want to check who made your frame.

RE: courious

Went to a CG where ALL the hook-ups were at the front of the site. Conveniently, the camp store sold extra electric cords, cable, water hose and sewer hose. (reasonably priced, surprisingly) Buy the extra length on sale or at a discount store and not when you HAVE to.

Hay Dawg, Welcome to TT ownership. I started in a tent, too. As I always say, if God intended for us to sleep on the ground, there wouldn't be roots and rocks in it! Enjoy the camper.

RE: Shower leaking on floor. I need a curved shower bar and

I had the same problem with water getting past the curtain and onto the floor so I installed a set of THESE with a good caulk. I got them at Bed Bath & Beyond. Problem solved. My TT came with a curved shower curtain track mounted to the ceiling.

RE: How do you drain a water heater

The connector piece is plastic and can be found at rv dealers. I tried Lowes and Home Depot, but they don't carry them.

The flex hose and valve can be found at either home center or any place that sells plumbing supplies.

RE: How do you drain a water heater

I just made this thanks to Larry, another forum member:

It connects where the plug used to be.

Makes for very easy draining.

Boondocking/Free camping

Just curious. For those of you that boondock and do it for free, where do you find the free places? Is there a listing of public land that allows RVs? I camp with 2 other families and more often than not we encounter bozos who make the trip memerable for all the wrong reasons. We'd like some seclusion from time to time.

RE: Anyone move their TT with a lawn/garden tractor?

My neighbor could not put his trailer exactly where he wanted to, so he bought an electric winch and mounted it to a fence post. He used that to pull his TT all the way back to where he wanted it. It moved very slow, so stoping was not an issue. Don't know if this is an option for you or not, but a suggestion.
